Protecting Our Daughters

Protecting Our Daughters is a project born in the love, compassion, and desire to protect and provide hygiene products and resources to girls in Kenya.
Since its inception, the Protecting Our Daughters (POD) project has provided 77,322 washable, reusable sanitary pads to 38,661 girls across 156 schools, 70 girls’ centers, and 17 tribal gatherings. Recognizing an added need for quality underwear, 37,601 pairs have also been distributed. Through the project, 11,885 girls have found faith, with the support of 4350 Bibles and 35 Talking Bibles (for tribal groups that do not read) distributed to nurture their spiritual growth.
Each time that the POD project visits a school or group, the school administrators and leaders provide a list of topics that the girls struggle with and requests that their team discuss and speak on these topics during their school visit.  Their team has spoken to over 156,000 girls on such topics as:  menstruation, hygiene, sexuality, early pregnancy, depression, learning difficulties, abuse, betrayal, anxiety, drugs, stress and peer pressure all from the vantage point of Gods’ love for each of them.
