Providing sewing machines, sanitary supplies and sewing education with love to the girls of Kenya

A project born in love, compassion, and the desire to protect women and girls in Kenya through providing hygiene, education, and pointing them to Jesus.

Pam Clark (retired North Coast Church staff member of 20 years) and Pastors Susan and Robert Owade have partnered in mission work for over 19 years throughout Kenya. Together, they regularly travel to visit schools and tribal groups in both remote regions of Kenya and communities closer to Nairobi, building long-term relationships and supporting local ministry efforts.

At the Owades’ church, Abundant Love Mission Church, women are cared for through an extensive educational sewing program that provides both training and the opportunity to earn their own sewing machine. Graduates of the POD sewing program receive an Alterations Certificate, equipping them to become self-sufficient by creating their own at-home business.

Through the sewing and distribution of washable sanitary pads, the Protecting Our Daughters (POD) Project has enabled girls to attend school, stay safe, and gain spiritual knowledge, while offering hope for their future.

The POD team will be traveling to Kenya in February and September of 2026 to continue strengthening partnerships, supporting local churches and schools, and encouraging women and girls through ongoing ministry.

Your donation helps provide sewing machines and supplies to POD Project sewing graduates, empowering them to positively impact their families and communities.

We appreciate your prayers and generosity toward Protecting Our Daughters, the POD Project.
