Facilitating and funding international ministries and educational projects as a means of taking the Gospel “to the ends of the earth.”
As the children of missionary parents, David and Gretchen Kast both grew up in Africa but did not meet until they attended college together in California. Shortly after their graduation, they were married and immediately began serving at Mount Tabor Mission in Lesotho, Africa. During that initial nine-year assignment, the Kasts’ ministry included the founding of several schools which have proven to be highly effective “tools of evangelism.”
For six decades the Kasts have observed the powerful potential of quality Christian education to reverse the cycle of poverty that threatens impoverished nations like Lesotho. Even after returning to the States to serve in academia and pastoral ministry, they have remained personally involved in international projects in Romania and Lesotho with a dual emphasis on leadership training and Christian education.
David and Gretchen are passionate about the life-altering value of mission schools. As with such Bible characters as Joseph, Daniel and Esther, these students demonstrate the extent to which God can change a nation through the life of Godly leaders dedicated to His purpose.
The graduates of Hope School and similar mission schools, are changing Lesotho, one life at a time. Shaped by their Bible-based education, these students routinely become outstanding leaders in their homes, churches, communities and government, making an eternal impact for the glory of God.
