Albert Ellis was a pastor and missionary to Mexico for 20 years before learning of the severe Christian persecution happening in Peru. While on a trip in 2000 to visit those impacted, Al met local Peruvian Juan Mallea and his family. El Camino Ministries began shortly after that trip as Al and Juan partnered with churches and families to begin after-school and weekend Bible clubs. Al’s daughter, Debra Ryan, followed shortly after her father, sharing in the desire to bring a safe, faith based environment for those in need.
