Equiping young leaders to fulfill Christ’s commission through the local church.
Katie and Lee led a missions trip to Czech Republic in 2014 to do an English camp. During that same trip, they paid their first visit to Ukraine in order to learn more about Josiah Venture (JV) and see its various ministries in action. Simultaneously, God began to give them a heart for global youth ministry and what he was doing through JV in Ukraine. In 2016, they took another team to Ukraine to do a music camp. After leading these trips, they felt an even stronger draw to serve with JV full-time and, consequently, moved to Ukraine in June of 2017. A touring musician since 2012, Lee has a passion for music and the impact it can have on people—especially youth. Katie has a heart for youth ministry and seeing young people follow Jesus. In Ukraine, the Humerians serve together on the schools highway and also help organize and lead grief and trauma healing retreats for Ukrainian church leaders, pastors, and their families. In addition, Lee leads the ministry specialties team and Katie serves in HR. Their daughters Jesse (June 2018) & Jayme (July 2020) were both born in Krakow, Poland. During the first three months of the war, the Humerians lived in Czech and were involved in humanitarian aid and refugee assistance with JV and local European church partners. The four of them have since moved back to their apartment in Lviv, Ukraine.
